Even by becoming the root and base manure

It happened on the Tree Planting Day a few years ago.

On the occasion of the meaningful day when the great leader had initiated the tree-planting movement, the respected General Secretary visited Mangyongdae Revolutionary School and planted trees with students.

On that day, the respected General Secretary told teachers that they should lead students to devote all care and enthusiasm to tree planting with strong awareness that they should have clean conscience and burning patriotic mind before planting trees and with determination to build green forest even by becoming the root and base manure themselves.

The respected General Secretary personally planted trees with students with great care for a long time, spending his labour on digging pits, giving water and packing the earth. And he studied the condition of the planted trees one by one and said meaningfully that everybody did a good job of tree planting and that when they became adults and visited the place, they would remember that day while seeing the thickly grown trees.

By becoming the root and base manure themselves!

The remark made by the respected General Secretary that day is deeply engraved in our mind even today.

It teaches us that when everybody values even a single tree on this land and devotes his sweat and sincerity to looking after it, the fatherland will become more beautiful and only those who cherish such a warm patriotic mind can make true contribution to the prosperity of the fatherland.
