The Most Valuable Assets

Under the warm care of President Kim Il Sung who had had an excellent people’s university established in liberated Korea and paid deep attention to its development, the graduation ceremony of the Faculty of Physics and Mathematics of Kim Il Sung university was held in a grandiose way in December, Juche 38(1949).

President Kim Il Sung personally attended the ceremony and made the historic speech “You should become the national cadres equipped with advanced science and technology and patriotic idea”.

He expressed thanks to the teaching staff of the university for having produced the first batch of graduated for the country and people and warmly congratulated the graduates on their appointment to worthwhile fields of the building of a democratic and independent state after successfully finishing the 4-year course of the highest faculty in DPR Korea.

Turning the warmest congratulations and honour from all people to the teaching staff and graduates of the university, he stressed that the talents constituted the incomparably precious assets of the country.

His teaching reflected his lofty intention to place to the fore the talents who would shoulder the country.

Then, he earnestly continued: You should remember that genuine talents are tempered only through the struggle to overcome difficulties. You should become strong talents who brave through difficulties without any fear. I want you to fully display creative enthusiasm and patriotic devotion for the country and people and advance vigorously towards fresh victory.

The idea of attaching importance to talents he expounded on that unforgettable day is now being brought into brilliant reality on this land
