Public and National Climate
In September 2021, the 5th Session of the 14th Supreme People’s Assembly of the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea was held in Pyongyang under the guidance of General Secretary
In the historic policy speech he made at the session, he stressed on establishing the climate of giving primary importance to science and technology.
He said: It is more important than anything else to build up the strength of science and technology and put it on upward track of radical development. Science and technology constitutes an engine which propels forward the socialist construction and the inexhaustible resource which we should rely on.
It was a teaching which implanted in the mind of people the importance of science and technology in the socialist construction.
He continued: We should make it a public and national climate of making up plans, setting goals and solving all problems arising in production and construction by relying on science and technology, directing primary efforts to scientific and technological development and innovation, and building up our own scientific and technological force in such a way that they play a pivotal, core role.

Indeed, his teaching was a valuable one which pulsated with his iron will to vigorously push forward revolution with science and technology as a treasured sword of prosperity.
