In April 1988, President Kim Il Sung gave an audience to the Party delegation of a foreign country.

President Kim Il Sung gave the delegation a valuable teaching about the importance of strengthening a party for successfully carrying out revolution and construction.

Then, the head of the delegation asked President Kim Il Sung, “Comrade President, what should do to strengthen the Party?”

He had always admired the Workers’ Party of Korea for the fact that it had wisely led socialist Korea along a sure road of victory in spite of all difficulties and trials, and wanted so anxiously to know the secret behind it.

President Kim Il Sung lost in deep thought for a moment and asked the head of the delegation whether he knew how honey bees lived.

The head of the delegation could not give an immediate answer.

President Kim Il Sung said to him with smile on his face: Honey bees live in group centering on the Queen. Of course, it is their natural way of living based on their instinct, but it can be compared to strengthening a party.

He continued: Just as the honey bees live in group, in a disciplinary way, centering on the Queen, a party should have a center and discipline. The first and foremost thing in strengthening a party is that the whole party should be firmly united behind the leader.

The head of the delegation looked up in reverence to President Kim Il Sung who instantly explained about the great truth of party building in comparison with a natural phenomenon, and said to him in deep emotion: Comrade President, you have clarified the fundamental principle of party building with a few words. Your explanation is so deep in meaning, yet easy to understand. It can be done only by a great person who has deep insight into the world.”
