Application of Computer-aided Educational Programme to Teaching
The Industrial Art Faculty of Pyongyang University of Publishing and Printing Industry has introduced the method of evaluating drafts through simulation of virtual environment in creating architectural designs, a major subject, to ensure scientific accuracy and efficiency of the design creation.
In the past the drafts were evaluated only with feeling and sense, but now, the students find out the strengths and weaknesses of their drafts and revise them to completion by themselves through practical activities in a virtual environment.
They plan the draft design for the decoration of the common living room draw it in ink and wash, and then, reproduce it as planned on the virtual environment simulation program, through which they decide on the perspective and color relations, composition and color distribution, and on that basis, revise the draft with a high accuracy, thus increasing their ability of conception and space construction.
