Changso Work-team of Sinhung Fruit Farm under the control of the Rural Economy Committee of South Hamgyong Province has many farmer-students.

Until only a few years ago the work-team had a few university graduates.

But now scores of farmers in the work-team are university students or graduates.

Two years ago, on one winter day, the members of the work-team had a discussion on preparation for the next year’s farming at the agricultural science and technology extension space of the work-team, but even after the meeting was over, none of them moved out.

The next year would mark the 55^th anniversary of the field guidance given by Chairman Kim Jong Il to Changso-ri, Sinhung County.

The members of the work-team had had heated discussion on and found the excellent ways of better fruit farming in the significant next year, yet none of them seemed satisfied.

They all lost in deep thought.

(Enthusiasm alone is not enough to add luster to the immortal leadership exploits of the great leader Kim Jong Il. He taught us to manage the fruit farm in a scientific and technological way.)

So, over 20 farmers were enrolled in the Distance Education Faculty of Wonsan University of Agriculture.

Among them were an old sub-work-team leader, married women and newly recruited young farmers.

Scores of work-team members with different ages and backgrounds got together to study while working and work while studying.

During the break, they had heated academic debate in the field and read books to and from their work.

In that course they overfulfilled the fruit production goal last year and successfully finished the first-year course of the distance education.

This year they have set a higher goal both for their production and study.

Actually, it was not at all easy to study while growing a large number of fruit trees.

Work-team leader Jong Kum Chol said: Our unanimous wish is to have bumper fruit harvest on this land in order to give pleasure to General Secretary Kim Jong Un when he comes here.

With this precious aspiration in mind, the farmer-students and other members of the work-team prepare themselves to be knowledge-based workers, devoting their sincere sweats to fruit farming and studying hard.
