Ryang Un Hye, a teacher at Jinhung Junior Middle School in Moranbong District devoted herself to recovering her pupil who had been unable to hear and speak for more than 10 years because of hypacusia from drug-related side effect. Her communist deed evokes unreserved admiration of all people, and the pupils of the school respect her as “our teacher”.
Chong Hyang had not been able to hear and speak for more than 10 years because of hypacusia from drug-related side effect since the age of 2. Ryang Un Hye enlisted her in the music circle and taught her how to pronounce words by inserting Chong Hyang’s fingers into her own mouth so that she could feel the movement of speech organs. She also taught her the meanings of many words.
