For the Life of a Boy
One day in early last August a shriek scream “Save him!” echoed through the air over a river in the area of Songhyang-dong, Songphyong District, Chongjin City.
One of the boys who had been playing by the river fell into the water.
The passers-by and his playmates were at a loss what to do, stamping their feet.
At the critical moment, one young man rushed to the site.
He directly jumped into the water without taking off his clothes.
After a while, he came out of the water from the far downstream with the unconscious boy on his back.
Then, he took care of the boy, trying artificial respiration on him.
The boy who was saved by the self-sacrificing effort of the young man was a pupil from Sohang Primary School in Songphyong District.
A little later his parents and the people in the surrounding area came hurriedly to the place.
Unable to hold back their feeling of gratitude, they asked the young man his name, but he simply answered, “There will be no one who would pass by, leaving a drowned boy behind.
