On June 1, Juche 103(2014), at the sunset General Secretary Kim Jong Un visited Pyongyang Baby Home.

Following his field guidance to different construction sites and other places under the scorching sun from early morning, he came here as he wanted see how the orphans were enjoying the International Children’s Day.

When he hurried up to the door of the recreation hall on the second floor, the all the orphans rushed out into his arms: some dashed with their arms wide open, some stumbled over the threshold and some clang to the hem of his clothes rivalling each other to be closer to him.

He helped the stumbled children on their feet and affectionately patted them on the cheeks. Then, he went into the recreation hall and listened to their songs.

When they finished singing, he clapped his hands before anyone else and called them to him. Holding them in his arms, he kindly asked them how they had spent the day and what food they had eaten.

Saying that he had brought fruit yogurt for them, he distributed them, and he personally stuck funnels into the yogurt cups when they asked him to do so.

That day he taught how to feed honey and other nutritious food to the children and instructed that good food and a lot of exercises were essential for better nutrition management.

Saying that the nurses assumed a heavy responsibility for proper education of the orphans, he stressed that they should take good care of them so that they could grow up happily with unfading smile on their faces, free from any grief at having no parents and without anything to envy,.

Then, he continued: People say 50 000 hands are needed to raise one child. I highly appreciate the nurses of Pyongyang Baby Home for their devotion to nurturing a lot of orphans. You should continue to take good care of them so that they grow up to become renowned scientists, sportsmen, artists, soldiers or heroes.

Saying that the more resonant laughter of children is, the brighter the whole country becomes, he promised that he would see them again at the newly built baby home.
