Top Priority Given To Production Of School Uniforms

There’s a saying that time buries everything in oblivion, but getting more and more vivid in the memory of the Korean people are the legendary stories about school uniforms.

At the consultative meeting of the economic leading officials held on July 6, Juche 83(1994) President Kim Il Sung indicated the detailed ways and means of improving the people’s living standard despite of the vicious economic blockade imposed by the imperialists, and suddenly asked one of the officials about the provision of school uniforms.

When reported by him that school uniforms had been provided to all kindergarteners and schoolchildren, President Kim Il Sung smiled broadly, as if he had been free of all worries.

Nowhere in the world can we find such a great person as President Kim Il Sung who was so much concerned about the provision of uniforms to children at the meeting which discussed the orientation and ways of the country’s economic development.

But nobody knew that it would be the last consultative meeting of economic leading officials chaired by President Kim Il Sung.

He set the provision of school uniforms to all children across the country as the eternal policy of DPR Korea for the first time in the world and concerned himself about it to the last moment of his life.

Indeed, President Kim Il Sung was the benevolent father of all children throughout the country, who valued the future of the country more than anyone else and wrote a legend of unprecedentedly warm affection for them on this land.
