Woman Scientist – Model of the Times

Doctor of Science in mechanical engineering, Merited Scientist and Meritorious Socialsit Patriot – these highly honorable titles cannot be easily won by any one as he or she wishes. Mrs. Jo Su Gyong, a researcher at Pyongyang University of Mechanical Engineering, is the holder of all these titles, who is highly appreciated as a model of the times by General Secretary Kim Jong Un.

She is a woman scientist of high ability who made a distinguished service to domestic production and modernization of bottling process at Taedonggang Foodstuff Factory, spring and autumn hosiery packing process at Pyongyang Hosiery Facotry and other important production processes, in the van of supporting with science the modernization of factories and enterprises, which are active in building a powerful socialist nation.

As she is a scientist possessed of the innovative vision of looking out to the world with her feet firmly planted in her land, audacious national self-confidence and courage, she could complete the designing and manufacturing of women’s summer hosiery packing process at Pyongyang Hosiery Factory, which is no worse than that of the most advanced country in the world. When General Secretary Kim Jong Un visited the factory, he was so pleased with her achievement that he highly appreciated her as a woman scientist who plays an important part in building a powerful socialist nation.

Today she continues to follow the road of inquiry without seeking any fame, devoting her pure conscience and burning enthusiasm to supporting the implementation of the policy of the Workers’ Party of Korea on science and technology.
