The press and media of different countries praise DPR Korea as it regards education as an important undertaking which determines the rise or fall of the country and future of the nation and brings into brilliant reality the lofty idea of the Workers’ Party of Korea on giving importance to education.

The Chinese newspaper “People’s Daily” carried the following article:

Giving importance to education is the tradition of DPR Korea.

President Kim Il Sung comprehensively indicated the orientation and ways of developing education by making public the historic work “Thesis on Socialist Education” on September 5, 1977. DPR Korea has hundreds of universities and colleges. Students receive from the state the scholarship for their study. Decades ago, it became one of a few countries in the world without illiterates, and has always taken the lead among developing countries in terms of the proportion of students to total population.

The tradition of Juche education was created by President Kim Il Sung during the anti-Japanese struggle. In the 3-year war and the post-war rehabilitation period DPR Korea directed great efforts to education. Under the wise leadership of President Kim Il Sung and H.E. Kim Jong Il, DPR Korea has made a great progress in education.

The bulletin of Kimilsungism-Kimjongilism Study Committee of Mexico reported that Leader Kim Jong Il who ensured that education was promoted ahead of all other works and the atmosphere of giving importance to education was established thoroughly in the whole society, and that he gave field guidance to different educational establishments to give programmatic guidelines on the development of education, in spite of his busy schedule of leading the overall work of the country.

DPR Korea has brought about a fresh change in education under the leadership of Comrade Kim Jong Un who lays the solid foundation for prosperity of the country.

The 6^th Session of the 12^th Supreme People’s Assembly of DPR Korea promulgated the law on introduction of the universal 12-year compulsory education.

This has led to the perfection of the educational system for training a greater number of capable talents, and the establishment of higher-level distance education system at major universities has opened up a broader avenue to making all people well-versed in science and technology.

The newspaper “Le Populaire” of Senegal praised: A helicopter flies in the sky for a few children on a lighthouse islet on the school opening day, and commuting trains and buses run on the ground for a small number of children in the remote mountainous areas. This reality can be witnessed only in DPR Korea which attaches importance to education of posterity,

The news agency “AKP” of Cambodia reported: the world people are so surprised to see the young Korean children distinguishing themselves in the international contests that they unreservedly admire that DPR Korea is, indeed, a country with many talents, a country with very high education level.

In DPR Korea, the noble idea of the preceding leaders on giving primary importance to education is now brought into reality under the leadership of Comrade Kim Jong Un.

Under his leadership the Juche education of DPR Korea making uninterrupted leap forward.
