Blessed Student from Remote Mountainous Area

One day in September, Juche 36(1947) President Kim Il Sung visited a hotel in Yangdok Country.

Guided by the hostess, he looked round the hotel and went into a neatly furnished room.

Looking around every nook and corner of the carefully furbished room, he asked who the room was for.

When the hostess answered that it was for her eldest son, the President asked where he was.

Pleased with her answer that he had been honoured to enter Kim Il Sung University the year before, the great leader said she must be happy as her son studied at the university and how proud it was to have a university student from such a remote mountainous area.

When the hostess offered the President a brand new blanket to sit on, he dissuaded her from doing it, saying warmly that it was not proper for him to sit on the new blanket, and that she should keep it so that her son could use it when he would come home on vocation.

The hostess was moved to tears.

So pleased to hear that a boy from a remote mountainous area, the President kindly asked the hostess to keep the new blanket for her son when he would come home on vocation and he himself sat on the cold and damp floor. Indeed, he was identical to the benevolent father.
