The Happiest Children In The World

On May 2,Juche 78(1989) the opening ceremony of Mangyongdae Schoolchildren’s Palace was held in a grandiose way in the presence of President Kim Il Sung and Chairman Kim Jong Il.

When President Kim Il Sung cut the red ribbon to declare the opening of Mangyongdae Schoolchildren’s Palace, Chairman Kim Jong Il extended warmest congratulations on it opening by clapping his hands amidst thunderous cheers of the masses.

Looking at the palace, he said in deep emotion: Mangyongdae Schoolchildren’s Palace looks fantastic. The designers of the palace named the design “Bosom” to imply that it is the bosom of President Kim Il Sung who warmly embraces all children across the country in his bosom. There were a number of draft designs for it, of which “Bosom” was the best. As worded in the song “We are the happiest in the world”, President Kim Il Sung is our father and the bosom of the Party is our home. Our children really grow up happily in his bosom, with nothing to envy in the world.

Looking round different parts of the palace, Chairman Kim Jong Il expressed his satisfaction over its good design and flawless quality of its execution, saying such a wonderful palace could be found nowhere in the world.

Having looked round the palace, he initiated the building of a children’s hospital in Pyongyang. He said: We’ve built the Pyongyang Maternity Hospital to ensure safe delivery of children, but have not yet solved the issue of growing them sturdy free from diseases. So I’ve decided to build a children’s hospital more splendid than any other hospitals in other parts of the world.

Looking up to Chairman Kim Jong Il, who, not contended with the building of the best schoolchildren’s palace in the world, had drawn up the plan to build a children’s hospital better than any other hospitals in other countries, the officials once again felt keenly that Korean children are the happiest in the world.

Later, splendid Okryu Children’s Hospital was built at the excellent site designated by Chairman Kim Jong Il in his lifetime.

The song “We are the happiest in the world” is now resounding far and wide from the wonderful children’s palace which is built under the warm care of the respected Comrade Kim Jong Un, who is identical to the great leaders in all respects.
